Walnut Brownies

Ingredients

  • 150g butter
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 160g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 130g flour
  • 15g cocoa powder
  • 80g chopped walnuts
  • 1 pinch of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Butter the sides and bottom of a (20 X 20 cm) baking pan. Line the pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chocolate and butter over bain-marie or microwave.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs and sugar together, Stir in the vanilla extract. Then whisk in the chocolate mixture until well combined.
  4. Add the sifted flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and stir well to combine. Add the chopped walnuts and mix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle walnuts over the top.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 min. Let the brownies cool completely, then cut into squares and serve.
