Thin Apple Tart

Thin apple tart

Ingredients

    • 1 ready-rolled puff pastry
    • 30g melted butter
    • 40g sugar
    • 4 or 5 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
    • 2 tablespoons apricot jam or apple compote

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C .
  2. Place the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Spread the apple compote or apricot jam over the top of the pastry.
  4. Place overlapping slices of apples on top of the pastry. Brush the apples with butter, and sprinkle with half of sugar.
  5. Bake the tart in the oven for 25 minutes until apples are tender and crust.
  6. Remove the tart from the oven, sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Return to the oven and place under the broiler for 4 minutes, until the sugar is caramelized.
