Thin apple tart
Ingredients
- 1 ready-rolled puff pastry
- 30g melted butter
- 40g sugar
- 4 or 5 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam or apple compote
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C .
- Place the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the apple compote or apricot jam over the top of the pastry.
- Place overlapping slices of apples on top of the pastry. Brush the apples with butter, and sprinkle with half of sugar.
- Bake the tart in the oven for 25 minutes until apples are tender and crust.
- Remove the tart from the oven, sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Return to the oven and place under the broiler for 4 minutes, until the sugar is caramelized.
