Ingredients
350g of chickpeas
½ bunch of parsley
½ bunch of cilantro
1 onion
3 garlic gloves
1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs
2 tablespoon of flour
½ tablespoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of cumin
½ tablespoon of salt
Directions
- (One day in advance). Soak the dried chickpeas overnight. Then drain and rinse them.
- Add the chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, salt and spices to a food processor. Pulse all ingredients together until all is well combined.
- Transfer falafel mixture to a bowl. Then add the breadcrumbs, flour and baking powder and stir with a spoon until it is fully combined.
- Shape your falafel mixture into round balls. (It helps to have wet hands as you form the balls).
- Fill a medium saucepan with vegetable oil. Heat the oil over medium heat, the carrefully drop the falafel balls into oil. Let them fry until golden brown.
- Serve the falafel immediately. Serve them with tahini sauce or hummus.
