Chicken tikka masala

Ingredients

Marinade :

  • Chicken breast
  • 1 natural yogurt (125g)
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely grated
  • Salt   

Sauce :

  • 1 chopped onion
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 peeled and Crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Directions

  1. Cut the chicken breast into cubes and put it in the marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Marinate at least 30 minutes, but preferably overnight.
  2. Put the chicken in a baking dish, and place it in the oven to 200°C for 20-25 minutes.
  3. place a skillet pan over a medium heat, and add oil, onion, garlic, crushed tomatoes and sugar. Cover and simmer on a low heat for 10 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato paste and cilantro and cook until thickened. (you may need water depending on how much liquid the tomatoes give off).
  5. Add  turmeric, garam masala and chili powder, cook for about 2 minutes. add chicken and sttiring then add the cream and stir through.
  6. Garnish with minced cilantro and serve with naan or / and Basmati rice.
